Thank you for choosing to support the Athletic Training Department during the UMW Athletics #CallingAllEagles Challenge!
The mission of the Athletic Training Department at Mary Washington is to provide quality healthcare to all student-athletes. As a team of professionals, we utilize current research and knowledge to provide a comprehensive and progressive approach to ensure the health and well-being of each student-athlete through prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of participation-related injuries and conditions.
We are a team of healthcare professionals providing care to over 550 student-athletes, including daily injury evaluation, rehabilitation of injuries, treatment of injuries and athletic-related conditions, preventative medicine, pre-practice and pre-game treatment, management of on-field injuries during practices and games, and management of emergency situations.
Our biggest need for fundraising is for rehabilitation equipment upgrades. Wanting to provide Eagle student-athletes with the most up-to-date rehabilitation experience requires us to annually inspect and analyze equipment, including exercise bikes, treadmills, arm bikes, tables, whirlpools, weights, and newer electrical stimulation and therapeutic ultrasound units. We would also love to add an elliptical and other cardio/warm-up equipment to our facility. On top of the rehabilitation equipment, we would use fundraising for injury management equipment and continue to upgrade the athletic training facility. Finally, fundraising would help provide the Athletic Training staff with new medical bags and sideline gear so we can be prepared to help our student-athletes in the case of an injury or emergency and protect ourselves and our medical supplies from the elements.
Thank you so much for your support of the UMW Athletic Training Department!
