Mary Washington Field Hockey has always taken great pride in the challenges of a strong season schedule and rigorous academic courses throughout the school year. The 2020-2021 Field Hockey team is made up of 25 dedicated student-athletes committed to the time and energy needed to continue this tradition. As a program, our highest priority is to provide players with a memorable and outstanding experience. Our time together allows us to continue to improve and grow as players but also learn valuable lessons through the sport we love and our interactions with teammates, opponents, and competition. In order to achieve these goals, fundraising allows us to provide players with the opportunities that go beyond the Athletic Departments budget. Our main fundraising goals for this year include:

• Increase in travel budget to provide athletes with strong competition. In order to do this, we need to make sure we provide players with the necessary needs while traveling in order to create a memorable and positive experience while on the road.
• Needed gear and UMW Swag to add to our team culture. Every player loves team gear. As stated, this group works hard on the field and in the classroom. Many take on part-time jobs and internships throughout the year. We like to reward them for all of their efforts and tackle the burden of practice gear and other necessary gear for the season.
