Thank you for choosing to support Women’s Tennis during the UMW Athletics #CallingAllEagles Challenge!
Mary Washington tennis is trying to achieve three primary goals with every one of our student-athletes. First, we want them to have a memorable and outstanding experience. Secondly, we will do everything possible to help our players improve on the court. Lastly, we want to teach through sport. College tennis provides countless opportunities for learning and growth through all of the student-athletes experiences every day with teammates, opponents, and competition. Our team has been ranked in the ITA National Rankings for 21 straight years, quite often in the top 15 and the highest-ranked public school in the country. We try to carry around 12 players annually.
Our biggest need for fundraising is for travel. Wanting to provide the players with excellent competition requires some trips outside of our immediate geographic area. These trips also happen to help accomplish the goals of great times together and countless memories. Our biggest trip is for spring break to California, our player’s favorite trip annually, as well as our trip to the Naval Academy invitational. In addition, we try to provide our student-athletes with all of the gear and accessories they need for success, which certainly goes well beyond what a department’s budget can provide.
