Lightsaber Duels

UMW Lightsaber Duels creates a fun community of people who enjoy the “Star Wars” franchise, lightsaber dueling, and performing/theatrical arts. We build teamwork, time management skills, dedication, and creativity. Our club provides a safe space for students who wish to choreograph, write, and perform a live original dueling show for the campus and Fredericksburg community. We also host showcases, bake sales, and collaborative events with other campus organizations. Last year, donations allowed us to buy club sabers for members to use to practice their duels or perform on stage. The money was also used to buy equipment for stage ambiance to immerse the audience into our dueling performance and buy concession stand snacks.

This year, your support will help us buy new lightsabers, props, costume pieces, and technical and stage equipment. This will help us produce a high-quality performance for the community to enjoy while highlighting our members’ creativity and dedicated practice.
