Mary Washington Living History Club

The Mary Washington Living History Club brings students together to explore the past through hands-on experiences with historic costuming and interpretation. Through bi-monthly meetings and educational programming, we foster appreciation, understanding, and discussion of history, making the past interactive, engaging, and accessible to all. In the past, money raised has been used to purchase new costumes to participate in various events at local historic sites with the goal of removing the financial barrier posed to potential club members interested in taking part in living history.

With your generous support, we can purchase men’s colonial costumes, as well as other pieces like suspenders and straw hats. Your gift will also be used to purchase supplies such as better storage for costumes, club trips to various historic sites, and expanded programming with historical games and activities, offering new ways for the community to engage with and experience history.
