Linguistics Club

UMW Linguistics Club fosters leadership development through educational and awareness projects that explore how linguistics and language impact our daily lives. We coordinate meetings where officers and members discuss language’s role in society while providing tutoring assistance for students in linguistics and language courses. Our programming helps students recognize and appreciate the linguistic diversity and complexity that surrounds us while building community within the linguistics department. Last year, donations helped us purchase food for several meetings, buy gifts for guest speakers, get stoles for graduates, and order T-shirts for club members.

This year, with your support, we can host field trips for English & Linguistics students, get guest speakers for our meetings, and buy food, games, stoles, and materials for our meetings and tutoring sessions. We also hope to grow community, pride, and engagement in the UMW Linguistics department via T-shirts, pins, and similar items.
