We are a non-profit organization that builds one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), offering social mentoring while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion for a population that is often isolated and excluded. Through their participation, people with IDD form meaningful connections with their peers, gain self-confidence and self-esteem, and share interests, experiences, and activities that many other individuals enjoy.
Best Buddies at UMW has felt the negative impacts of COVID-19, so any financial support for our club is greatly appreciated. With your help, we will be able to continue to host monthly events that allow for a safe and inclusive space for students and community members with intellectual and developmental disabilities to interact and form meaningful social connections.
