Our Crowdfunding Groups
The Weekly Ringer is the independent student newspaper at the University of Mary Washington that features four sections: News, sports, life, and opinion. Staff writers and photographers are sourced from the JOUR 380: Practicum Journalism class and The Weekly Ringer Club, and staff editors are elected each spring to preside over their section or respective position for the following year. The purpose of the paper is to accurately report on-campus events, news, and other information for the edification of the UMW student body, faculty, and staff, as well as those in the surrounding Fredericksburg area. The paper is published weekly.
Funds raised will go towards paying for our publishing costs as well as being able to pay for more pages in color. Furthermore, our editorial staff is completely volunteer-based, so our goal is to be able to compensate them for their work, even if it's just enough to pay for a textbook or other supplies they need for classes.
