Our Crowdfunding Groups
At UMW Lightsaber Duels, we strive to create a community of friendship and leadership through an interest in Star Wars and creating performative lightsaber duels. We also work to help students build confidence, teamwork, time management, leadership, expressiveness, and accountability. We have an impact on campus by being a novel and fun experience for people who participate and people who watch our shows, which are free and open to the public.
Throughout the year, UMW Lightsaber Duels holds showcases of lightsaber duels, runs a Star Wars-themed bake sale, and collaborates with other organizations on campus for events such as the Space-themed night at the top of the CRUC or a Star Wars movie night with Reel Deals.
With your support, we could purchase more lightsabers that members can perform with and rent out if they do not have a lightsaber of their own.
