Sociology and Anthropology (SoAn) Club was formed to bring together Anthropology and Sociology majors to further explore society outside the classroom. Its purpose is to foster leadership development through educational and awareness projects. SoAn Club coordinates a regular series of discussions about social issues, meetings with SoAn faculty to foster relationships with students as well as to garner more department action and involvement on campus, and create a network between professors, current students, and alumni. At meetings, we will provide resources on internships, field schools, graduate studies, and scholarship opportunities, as well as provide the affiliation to the Anthropology and Sociology Honor Societies - Lambda Alpha, and Alpha Kappa Delta.
With your support, we hope to foster and help grow students’ interest in the fields of Anthropology and Sociology. Throughout the year, we offer help with internships, papers, research, and plan museum trips. Our goal is to offer students an insight into what they can do with Anthropology and/or Sociology. Your investment will create opportunities for SoAn to attend conferences, plan educational field trips, and grow our department presence at UMW.
