The goal of the Black Student Association (BSA) is to create a space for black students to indulge in conversation about our past, present, and future. Talking about prominent issues at UMW, throughout Virginia, in the U.S., and around the world, we want our members to speak truthfully about their thoughts and feelings on pertinent subjects. BSA puts on events such as Kwanzaa and an annual step show. We also participate in Black History Month celebrations and bi-weekly club meetings, allowing our members to speak on situations that they have experienced personally, or have noticed and wish to speak on, without feeling out of place.
Your philanthropic support will help us put together more events for our black students and community members to attend, such as Kwanzaa. Your gift would also go toward our planned events and club meetings as well as BSA swag for our members and any supporters who stand for what BSA speaks on. We hope to save money for future BSA meetings, events, and trips.
